Tuesday, November 18, 2025 (1:00 PM - 3:00 PM) (CST)
Description
Rural Waste Water Systems: What REALTORS® Need to Know
Join Roy Kroeger, Boone County’s Onsite Wastewater Coordinator, and Jesse Stephens, Facilities Engineering Manager for the Boone County Sewer District
With more buyers moving out of metropolitan areas and seeking homes in rural communities, REALTORS® are increasingly encountering properties with on-site wastewater systems. This panel will equip you with the knowledge to guide clients through these unique challenges and avoid surprises that can delay or derail a transaction.
Our expert speakers will cover:
On-Site Wastewater Permits: Boone County basics, site suitability, system types, soil scientist and engineering requirements, permit process and builder responsibilities, common project delays, and future planning.
Existing Systems: What you may find on a property with a septic system, how to determine if it is acceptable or needs to be replaced, and key considerations for buyers and sellers.
Boone County Regional Sewer District: What to do when an on-site permit is not allowed, plus an overview of the Area Wide Management Plan and the Capital Improvements Plan.
Attendees are encouraged to submit their questions when registering. Questions will be shared with the speakers in advance to help shape the discussion. Don’t miss this timely session designed to give you practical tools for working with rural properties.
*registration open to primary & secondary
